The Top 10 Boxscores of the Week

Welcome to the Top 10 Boxscore of the Week, a weekly segment on the Boxscore Geeks where we break down our favorite boxscores of the week. While we do use statistical criteria to guide our choices, this list is subjective. With that said, here's our list!

I don't have official titles for the types of box scores I grab each week. That said, these four make the list for the "Getting your work done so you can check out early" box score. All of these players fouled out but still put up an excellent box score. Half of them won their games, so it's a mixed bag if taking off early is alright.

Pablo Prigioni

link

  • 15 Minutes Played
  • 1 Field Goal Attempts
  • 0 Free Throw Attempts
  • 2 Points, 100.0% True Shooting
  • 2 Rebounds (0 Offensive)
  • 2 Assists
  • 1 Personal Fouls
  • 8 Steals
  • 1 Turnovers
  • 0 Blocks

Prigioni grabbed eight steals in fifteen minutes? That definitely merits making the list. One of the oldest players in the game puts up a solid game being the third stringer behind ... Austin Rivers.

LaMarcus Aldridge - Jan. 11th

link

  • 28 Minutes Played
  • 17 Field Goal Attempts
  • 1 Free Throw Attempts
  • 25 Points, 71.7% True Shooting
  • 11 Rebounds (4 Offensive)
  • 2 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 0 Steals
  • 0 Turnovers
  • 0 Blocks

A solid performance out of LaMarcus Aldridge that seems to epitomize what the Spurs expect out of a big. Has he finally turned the corner from being talented to being a legitimate star? Time will tell!

Andre Drummond- Jan. 11th

link

  • 39 Minutes Played
  • 20 Field Goal Attempts
  • 6 Free Throw Attempts
  • 14 Points, 30.9% True Shooting
  • 21 Rebounds (7 Offensive)
  • 0 Assists
  • 5 Personal Fouls
  • 1 Steals
  • 4 Turnovers
  • 3 Blocks

On Ben Wallace's jersey retirement night, Andre Drummond did a great homage to Ben Wallace. He couldn't score. In fact, this was the worst scoring game of the week! Still twenty plus boards and three blocks in an unexpected win against the Warriors is a pretty awesome game.

Marcus Smart - Jan. 15th

link

  • 32 Minutes Played
  • 12 Field Goal Attempts
  • 2 Free Throw Attempts
  • 10 Points, 38.8% True Shooting
  • 11 Rebounds (3 Offensive)
  • 11 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 2 Steals
  • 3 Turnovers
  • 2 Blocks

Russell Westbrook - Jan. 15th

Hassan Whiteside - Jan. 15th

  • 4 Turnovers
  • 11 Blocks

Three triple doubles in one day? Do you know how rare this is? Do you know the last time this happened? Well, Apri 1st, 2015! Fine, that's recent, but the last time it happened before that? March 9th, 2003! So this is kind of cool. Whiteside did what Whiteside does, prove anyone that thinks he's not worth a max deal a fool. Westbrook had a decent triple-double, and Marcus Smart gets third on the list this week just because he shared this day with two other triple-doubles.

That's our list! Did we miss someone? Are any players too high? Well don't worry, we'll be back next week with another one. If you see any boxscores you think deserve consideration, leave them in the comments or tweet at myself (@nerdnumbers), Patrick (@nbageek), or Brian (@boxscorebrian) with hashtag #BSGTop10. Seeya next time!
