Show Notes

The Warriors

We talk about how good the Warriors are this year. Fun notes - they are the best team in NBA history to not have a player on the All-NBA first team, and only the third team this good to not have an MVP.

Brian talks about the Warriors improved offense post-Mark Jackson. Brian also follows it up with a great rant about how the Warriors are the team pundits have claimed they wanted for years.

In regards to the playoffs being unbalanced, this has happened before. In 1982-1983, Moses Malone (an MVP) joined Dr. J (an MVP) on the 76ers to form a superteam that only lost one game in the most unbalanced playoffs in modern NBA history. Of course, the next season the NBA had the "most balanced" playoffs in modern NBA history.

Of course, an issue with this year's playoffs injuries are an issue. News flash, this is nothing new either!

Finally, we note that the draft lottery will never fix the NBA's parity issue. However, it is doing a lot to contribute to the NBA's parity issue in the playoffs.

Toronto Raptors and Advanced Stats

Brian brings up how the Raptors are using IBM's Watson and artificial intelligence. Will it work?

Of course, I note how the Raptors were surprised you could rebuild without tanking, so I'm not holding my breath.
