The Top Ten Boxscores of the Week

Another week, another top ten boxscores! It's not often I get to do a "theme" but this week I do. This week was filled with tons of amazing performance that happened in thirty minutes or less (which means they were full price!) Oh, and James Harden had another absurd triple-double, ho-hum.

Player Date Minutes PTS(TS%) TRB(ORB)| AST TOV STL BLK PF PoP
James Harden 1/27 39 51 (74.6%) 13 (1) 13 5 2 1 4 18.5

1. Every triple-double where a player scored fifty-plus points since 1983-1984 has happened by a player drafted by the Thunder(Sonics). Harden keeps up his MVP push in a great game that resulted in a close?? win against the 76ers.

2. Steph Curry holds the record for most made three-pointers in a single game. Had they let him keep playing, he might have shattered that this game. In only 29 minutes of play, he made nine threes! Still, as the Warriors trounced the Clippers by almost fifty, there was no need for Curry to risk his health.

3. Tyson Chandler does not care about father time. A missed free throw is the only thing that kept his scoring from being perfect. Of course, the Suns lost to the Wolves by one point, so that missed free throw stings. That said, a 22-17 night with two blocks is nothing to sneeze at.

4. If only Curry had played out of his mind, the Warriors would have beaten the Clippers by twenty. However, if Kevin Durant is also going to rain down fire while passing the ball? Well, I guess you could say the Warriors are clicking.

5. Marcin Gortat put up a "stat-stuffing" performance by completely filling the boxscore in a trouncing of the Hawks. 15 points, a two to one assist to turnover ratio to go with three blocks and two steals? That's game winning material right there! And following this week's theme, he did it in a mere 29 minutes.

6. E'Twaun Moore put up another one of the "great under thirty minute" games of the week. Sadly it wasn't enough for the Pelicans to win. Moore spent the entire third quarter on the bench. While on the court, though, Moore shot well and rebounded great. Good try!

7. Jae Crowder is one of the best prospects drafted by the Mavericks. He's had some injury issues this season, but when healthy he's making the Celtics look fierce (next to an amazing Isaiah Thomas). It was another "stat stuffer in under thirty minutes" game, nineteen points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in a thirty point blowout of the Magic.

8. Our final "great game in under thirty minutes" on the list. Lou Williams couldn't get the Lakers a win over the Blazers. That said, he averaged over a point a minute (on fantastic shooting) while also grabbing four rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Good try Lou.

9. Russell Westbrook notched his twenty-fourth triple-double here. That said, it makes the list because I'm not sure I'd count it. Westbrook had a True Shooting of 33.9% meaning his twenty points weren't really helping. That said, his assist to turnover ratio was good. Overall a subpar performance actually, but not like it mattered as the Cavs won by sixteen.

10. We love Jimmy Butler around here. He's great. That said, he earned the coveted tenth spot, which I save for the worst game of the week. On thirteen shots and two free throws, all Butler could muster was three points! He also put up three turnovers to go with two assists. The Bulls lost by twelve to the Heat, and it's fair to say it was mostly Butler's fault. To add insult to injury, Rondo actually played pretty well this game.

That's our list! Did we miss someone? Are any players too high? Well don't worry, we'll be back next week with another one. If you see any box scores you think deserve consideration, leave them in the comments or tweet at myself (@nerdnumbers), Patrick (@nbageek), or Brian (@boxscorebrian) with hashtag #BSGTop10.
