The Top 10 Boxscores of the Week

Welcome to the Top 10 Boxscore of the Week, a weekly segment on the Boxscore Geeks where we break down our favorite boxscores of the week. While we do use statistical criteria to guide our choices, this list is subjective. With that said, here's our list!

C.J. Miles - Dec. 19th

link

  • 24 Minutes Played
  • 9 Field Goal Attempts
  • 0 Free Throw Attempts
  • 0 Points, 0.0% True Shooting
  • 3 Rebounds (1 Offensive)
  • 0 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 0 Steals
  • 3 Turnovers
  • 0 Blocks

In over twenty minutes of play C.J. Miles managed to be less than worthless. Sure, he did grab three boards, but that was completely offset by his three turnovers. Tack on nine missed shots and two personal fouls and Miles made a strong case for being the Pacers' player of the game.

Kyle Lowry - Dec. 17th

Link

  • 44 Minutes Played
  • 29 Field Goal Attempts
  • 7 Free Throw Attempts
  • 20 Points, 30.2% True Shooting
  • 4 Rebounds (1 Offensive)
  • 5 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 1 Steals
  • 1 Turnovers
  • 1 Blocks

A five to one assist to turnover ratio is usually a good thing out of your point guard. Usually, though you'd prefer, they don't miss over twenty shots! Kyle Lowry makes our list for the worst scoring performance of the week. Somehow the Raptors only lost this game by ten.

DeAndre Jordan - Dec. 18th

link

  • 35 Minutes Played
  • 6 Field Goal Attempts
  • 20 Free Throw Attempts
  • 16 Points, 54.1% True Shooting
  • 17 Rebounds (4 Offensive)
  • 0 Assists
  • 3 Personal Fouls
  • 0 Steals
  • 0 Turnovers
  • 2 Blocks

DeAndre had a 54.1% True Shooting to go with seventeen boards. Still, any time a player gets twenty free throw attempts it's impressive. The fact that he couldn't crack double digits in free throws is impressive too I suppose. This list usually is a combo of good boxscores and bad boxscores. This one falls somewhere in the middle.

Ricky Rubio - Dec. 16th

link

  • 34 Minutes Played
  • 10 Field Goal Attempts
  • 2 Free Throw Attempts
  • 9 Points, 54.1% True Shooting
  • 10 Rebounds (3 Offensive)
  • 12 Assists
  • 1 Personal Fouls
  • 8 Steals
  • 1 Turnovers
  • 1 Blocks

So close to a quadruple double! Rubio had a fairly impressive double-double on assists and rebounds. Much like DeAndre Jordan, it was also impressive for Rubio to not hit ten points despite taking ten shots and two free throws.

Matt Barnes - Dec. 14th

link

  • 33 Minutes Played
  • 9 Field Goal Attempts
  • 2 Free Throw Attempts
  • 20 Points, 100.0% True Shooting
  • 6 Rebounds (1 Offensive)
  • 2 Assists
  • 3 Personal Fouls
  • 2 Steals
  • 4 Turnovers
  • 1 Blocks

We love an impressive shooting performance. Matt Barnes managed to score twenty points on "perfect" shooting when you account for the fact that three-pointers are a cheat code. He also put up at least one in every boxscore category, so that's kind of cool too.

Anthony Davis - Dec. 20th

link

  • 19 Minutes Played
  • 11 Field Goal Attempts
  • 9 Free Throw Attempts
  • 27 Points, 79.6% True Shooting
  • 6 Rebounds (0 Offensive)
  • 1 Assists
  • 1 Personal Fouls
  • 0 Steals
  • 1 Turnovers
  • 4 Blocks

This game may be the embodiment of Anthony Davis' career. In limited minutes, Davis put up great production. Of course, he missed over half the game with an illness. Anthony Davis is fantastic when he's on the court. He's just been having trouble staying there. In this case, he gave just enough to help the Pelicans get a win.

Jarrett Jack - Dec. 18th

link

  • 39 Minutes Played
  • 15 Field Goal Attempts
  • 7 Free Throw Attempts
  • 26 Points, 71.9% True Shooting
  • 9 Rebounds (0 Offensive)
  • 6 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 3 Steals
  • 3 Turnovers
  • 2 Blocks

Jack put up a surprisingly solid game that was wasted in a loss to the Pacers. Any game where a player does everything well and in volume deserves some respect. Welcome to the list Jack!

Draymond Green - Dec. 16th

link

  • 31 Minutes Played
  • 14 Field Goal Attempts
  • 4 Free Throw Attempts
  • 16 Points, 50.8% True Shooting
  • 11 Rebounds (4 Offensive)
  • 10 Assists
  • 1 Personal Fouls
  • 5 Steals
  • 2 Turnovers
  • 1 Blocks

The only triple-double of the week makes the list. It's hard to count the points, but if Green regularly puts up five steals on iffy shooting nights, I'll forgive him!

Kobe Bryant - Dec. 17th

Link

  • 32 Minutes Played
  • 16 Field Goal Attempts
  • 7 Free Throw Attempts
  • 22 Points, 62.5% True Shooting
  • 8 Rebounds (1 Offensive)
  • 3 Assists
  • 2 Personal Fouls
  • 0 Steals
  • 2 Turnovers
  • 1 Blocks

I don't understand what's going on with Kobe in games against Houston. He plays great, but the Lakers get blown out. In more bizarre news, both Dwight Howard and James Harden shot poorly, and Kobe forgot how to shoot free throws. Anyway, a couple more games like this and Kobe may bring his season averages up to awful instead of god-awful.

Klay Thompson - Dec. 16th

Link

  • 31 Minutes Played
  • 22 Field Goal Attempts
  • 5 Free Throw Attempts
  • 43 Points, 61.5% True Shooting
  • 3 Rebounds (0 Offensive)
  • 2 Assists
  • 0 Personal Fouls
  • 1 Steals
  • 1 Turnovers
  • 0 Blocks

I don't usually like putting in two boxscores from the same game. Still, when the Warriors increased their losses by an infinite amount, they needed to come back strong. I'm not sure Klay Thompson is the "best" shooting guard. Still, he's pretty good at shooting.

That's our list! Did we miss someone? Are any players too high? Well don't worry, we'll be back next week with another one. If you see any boxscores you think deserve consideration, leave them in the comments or tweet at myself (@nerdnumbers), Patrick (@nbageek), or Brian (@boxscorebrian) with hashtag #BSGTop10. Seeya next time!
